Health care providers who take the ACLS course must be proficient in the following

- Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting ECG's
- Knowledge of basic pharmacology
- Performing BLS primary survey and the ACLS secondary survey
Health care providers who take the PALS course must be proficient in the following
- Performing CPR skills using AHA health care provider
- Reading and interpreting ACG rhythm strips
- Knowledge of basic pharmacology
- Evaluating a seriously ill or injured child using systematic approach to pediatric assessment outlined in your PALS provider manual
